BSNL EVDO Broadband: VOICE and SMS feature and new UI

Hey people, i just got to see a new user interface for the EVDO card(my bro took a new card). And while connecting it for the first time I noticed some new things.

The whole look of the UI is revisited.
New features like Voice Calling and SMS have been added. Corresponding tabs for call and sms records are also there.
I also saw a new option of keeping the device on "Only EVDO" or "1x" or "Hybrid" mode.

I tried to use the calling feature but was unsuccessful. I guess there was some setting problems. But i was able to send an SMS (It said a successful send, although i havent received the sms in my phone till now).

Also there is some mention of voice calling on the BSNL website. But i cudnt get much of it.

hi, your brother got which modem, is it zte ac8700 or is it different? can you please upload that software in link-removed and give us link.:huh:

its da same AC8700 800M....da black one. i tried it on my laptop. it has got da drivers for 64 bit. my device shows da old UI. But on plugging my bro's device, the whole UI changes. I gues derz some additional features programmed into da device.Newaz i'l also put up da link to da drivers, in case u wanna c.

yes i noticed some software changes,if you look into last image of your brothers software you uploaded in about device section the software revision looks likeGU8A3191 jul31 2008 but where as in my software it as GU8A3113 dec04 2006
