Once activity is done we will intimate on the group. All are informed to take a note of this.

Didn't get any message but internet is down since 10:30 AM for me in Ernakulam, Kerala. Fiber link with LCO OLT is up. Perhaps they are doing in migration in multiple cities together? 😅

Yep I didn't get the message directly myself... someone forwarded it to me on WhatsApp so trying to find out the reason and where it came from...

My connection started showing authentication failure from 730am and started working by 915am today.

Sorry, false alarm. My LCO is migrating to GPON OLT and the downtime is due to that. I had not physically inspected the ONT, but even though there was signal it was actually offline. LCO called me just now asking me to share the ONT serial number so that they can whitelist it.

Same as varkey my internet was also down yesterday from 9 am. At first LOS light(red) was glowing then the power was back up and the LCO asked for the MAC address and serial number of the ONU. Around 3pm when I asked why such a long downtime they told me that they are upgrading their "Machines" and it will have higher capacity and stability, its the "FUTURE"-as said by the LCO guy. In the evening I got a call from him that my ONU is incompatible with their machine and I had to buy a new ONU worth Rs.2500. I asked them to provide me with a spare ONU as I wanted to switch to Airtel which would come in 1-2 month in my locality but he refused that they don't have spare ONUs and also have stopped renting them. The problem here is with the fake advertisement made in their website that Installation would be waived off. Also I had paid 4.5k during the installation 3 years back. My connection is direct from BSNL(what i think) cuz the LCO is from BSNL and has his office inside the exchange. The connection was horrible for last 2-3 weeks constant 400ms to Mumbai servers and frequent packet loss. I don't want to invest for this service.
Is there anything I can suggest the LCO to do to get new ONU(for free) or upgrade my old one?

If the LCO updated from EPON to GPON and your ONU only supports EPON then you will have to upgrade but don't spend that much money getting one. I think someone here was selling Huawei ONU for pretty cheap which is what I recommend.

Also never be hopeful for any timeline of entry by any new broadband player. Their plans can change leaving you with disappointment.
