My local ISP was providing me with 65 Mbps on a 100 Mbps plan, so I decided to switch to BSNL FTTH eight months ago.

The experience with BSNL has been terrible. The ping is extremely high and inconsistent. The LCO guy doesn’t do anything and always blames the "back-end."

I'm getting 1500ms ping on 8.8.8.8 every few seconds, and websites take ages to load.

Today, the line got cut because the electricity department is laying some wires somewhere, and the LCO told me he has no idea when it will be fixed.

I’ll go back to that 65 Mbps local ISP—at least he provided better internet quality.

You can always go back to other ISPs but you may also pay him back for his services. Choice is yours!
LCO is responsible for fixing fiber breaks. Register complaint of red LOS on BSNL selfcare and ask for rent rebate if they don't fix it within 3 days.

I will try doing that, but even with fixed cable the internet quality is pretty shit. Maybe he or the bsnl exchange are using some faulty/old backend equipments. Having two parites involved (LCO and BSNL) gives them a chance to blame each other instead of doing the work.
