Whoever sets up the ONT for Internet and Landline profile will have the password to access the configuration page.
In my case, I took the ONT id and password the same day they installed it at my home in 2021 to change WiFi name and password.
Lco guy set it up at my home but he claims that bsnl will send ont login details to them and hasn't yet. Don't know if bsnl sent the configured ont to them to just install, or if lco is afraid I might tweak the config and create trouble so avoiding giving me the details. So what can I do in that case? Any password suggestion that I can try?
Did you get the router?
Why not make a trip to bsnl office and tell them you need ONT id pass. Do mention that LCO saying BSNL hasn't shared it with him.
I will be getting Asusrouter soon. This Netlinkont cum single band router was given by bsnl.
Maybe that's what I will have to do after all, go to the local bsnl office. Really weird all these issues. These people can't keep simple things simple.
1) If your lco is not giving you the login credentials, he may think you will definitely mess something up.
2) Buy whatever you want but make sure the mac address is tec certified. It has to be, or your connection will be blacklisted. You can clone the mac of your Netlink to the Asusrouter.
3) You can set the vlan in the onu. Some onu may not have this feature then one can set the vlan in the router itself.
In case I can't convince them to give me the password how difficult would be configuring the router after resetting it if I have my broadband username and password? My ont cum router is from Netlink.
Any password suggestion you have that I can try to login to my router? I have tried many, even checked a few reddit post suggestions but nothing seems to work.
Finally got the password. But the number of tabs and settings in the ont cum router feels overwhelming. So I think I will stick to using this ont in bridge mode instead of getting all those configs into a dumb Digisol ont.
I have read that for some people lco pushes default config over tr069 sometimes. My question is if I put this Netlink ont router in bridge mode and use its pppoe WAN mac in Asus router and then lco resets my ont back to route mode remotely with default config and now ont cum router has same mac as asus router, will that lead to any error( like unauthorised mac, or something similar and annoying)?
Also in case I need to access admin panel of this ont after putting it in bridge mode (192.168.1.1 page), what would be my options
