So I had a look at my friend's ONT, same model as yours. His WAN MAC is same as PPPoE MAC. Basically, the MAC that was being used when BSNL introduced MAC authentication gets locked until reset.

May be its a unique case for me then. Here is the pictures for Modem and Status page, just as a confirmation.Google Photos

Also regarding Remote maintenance, they have uploaded the profile and now its not resetting back to PPPoE after restart or power shutdown. But it has started another problem for me, I cannot access the default gateway anymore (even when directly connected to the ONT). I will try to reset the ONT tomorrow and see if I can solve it.

It could be because you have or rather they have configured it differently. There is TR069 as the first entry, then internet and voice, order matters I guess on which profile gets what MAC. That might have been your case. Also I have configured/edited the PPPoE profile to bridge and vice versa. Never made a separate profile for bridge.

Could be they disabled DHCP and you have to manually configure to get into ONT interface. Try to access via Wifi too.

@youbarajsha good for you it all worked in the end. I'm not active but next time you can check mac address using bsnl portal which is bound to your connection in the usage section. One more thing setting up 802.1p value to 7 have any benefits or not?

sending PADI error, you haven't bridged successfully yet,
if bridged it should talk with OLT and at least give you auth error
sorry fast forwarding to this by reading the first forum post, didn't read all

also, you need to bind the port in syro whichever port you're using through

Hey I'm also trying to bridge my DBC combo device but I'm facing an issue where the LAN lights turn off if I use the mac from DBC router or BSNL Selfcare session in my Mercury MR60X v2 router.

Also, DBC combo does not have any WAN MAC on its back (Only Device Mac is available which is ending in 5F for DBC and 64 in BSNL Selfcare sessions). Only last 2 digits are different in DBC and Selfcare session MAC address.

I've made so many trials and errors but not succeeded till now.

Any help will be appreciated.

@PratikDeshmukh do not try to copy your dbc Mac, your onu must be turning off lan DHCP whenever you switch it to bridge you may find for option for same

try bridging through without port binding first else vice versa, mostly it's straightforward and should work

make sure to kept vlan enables that's most important for your port identity simply

@guywithproblems I must be doing something wrong I guess. I tried to bind port and I also tried not selecting any port the 2nd time while doing bridge mode setup. Both times Lan2 and Lan1. Light died (tried both ports).

People are able to make bridge connections so easily on youtube but I've been trying from 3 days after I recieved my new router from Amazon.

Also, my BSNL TIP is not the kind of person who takes customer issues seriously. He'll be like our router is working and your router must be faulty.

Hey,
I made the bridge mode work for me.
When I used the old ONT for bridge the LAN will disable every single time I copied the WAN mac address to the router.

Solution:

1) Get a new XPON ONT/ONU for bridge.

2) Get a new Router with MAC cloning feature.

3) Set up the new XPON device in bridge mode (Note: Set up a VOIP profile if you have the port for it, it works).

4) Bind the GBPS lan port for the bridge profile. (I didn't bind the 100 mbps port so that I can make changes in my XPON device through that LAN port)

5) Clone the MAC address from the BSNL Selfcare Portal to your Router. (Usage>Session>Cumulative Unbilled Session Usage)

6) Fill in the PPPOE information stuff on router and hit connect.

@!!..PD..!! I also had the same issue. I thought maybe my router has issue so I tried with laptop, but still ports get disabled whenever I tried to authenticate with clone mac address.

So BSNL is deliberately block bridge functionality on its ONT. I don't know how this is helpful to bsnl in any way.

So buying a new ONT is the only option.

I hope to get a Media converter with a xpon SFP module in future and tinker with it.

I would appreciate any other tip (hopefully less expensive Or buying a new ONT)
