BSNL IPTV: IOL is out from Bangalore

Ok it should be IOL. The caller wasn't very clear to me and now I have rebooted the system I see it should be IOL. Anyway the point still stands has my originally provider IOL lost the contract, does anybody know? Then who is the new company.

in some other thread, someone had posted abt IOL guys not responding for days and BSNL planning to take action. so it may be true.

Hi, I got a call from on the same lines. They were asking our interest to continue having IPTV. I think IOL is out now. They said, Jan 17 they will come to my house and they will try installing with new modem and remote. Still they have not turned up. They also said that I need to pay 1500.00 INR as installation charges and 140 channels. I am still waiting at home but still no one turned up yet.

Again since Thursday I am not receiving the IPTV service . Is it disconnected. Is IOL out. Recently, had got a call from some person stating to be from IPTV and said that IOL will be moving out and that another (he representing it) is going to take over and explained me the plans and installation procedure for it. Has anyone else to got such a call? Any changes?

Oh..Got similar call but I have not made a move yet. Cant see it being genuine as of now. He also mentioned to me that the present set top box is not related to their service and what they provide is what we need to use. I think its better that they plan and come to conclusion so as to who is going to provide wat and then get to customers or else we would just be installing one after the other and having a collection of set top boxes at home for museum at some point later . As of now no channels can be viewed at my end since Thursday (22/01). Anyone else facing the same issue?

Yes, I too received a similar call.He said IOL is out and they are replacing them. He said he is from "MyWay". He asked about the current IPTV service.He was not even sure about the channels they are providing. When I asked about the kannada channels he just said "chandana", "TV9". He was not even aware of the kannada channels. Finally he asked for the names of kannada channels and he said he will check about those.He also mentioned that the current Set Top Box will not work. And they will provide a new Set Top Box and we will have to pay Rs 1500 for that.They will take care of providing the STB, remote and take care of doing all the required wiring. He said for 3 months, the service will be free and after that there will be 2 options. 1. Rs 200 for 90 channels 2. Rs 280 for 150 channels. Finally he said their representative will come home and give a demo, if satisfied then only we can go for it. He said they will come sometime during Jan-end. No body turned up till now. Let's see. Yes, as of now, current IOL IPTV is not working from 2-3 days.

My set top box is no longer booting up. I wasn't really happy with the service anyway, problems with the sound and picture since I have had it. I have also tried cable which was no good, so I think I am off to Tata Sky +, this seems a more reliable service.

If anybody notices the IPTV service to be resumed do let us know here or even any information about the new service as per the call. I was given an email id to contact to, but i have got a response in my mail as failure to send probably wrong id given to me....Any information on options available for IPTV in bangalore would be helpful.
