Budget 2007

I don't know much about the budget, but I heard that the finance minister screwed it real good. I was watching on a few news channels, comparisons b/w Laloo And P.Chidambaram, with headlines like - "Laloo jaise kyun nahi Chidambaram". Why is the 2007 Budget being criticised so much? Nothing in the interest of people?

it's basically coz of the income tax thing...everyone expected that he'd do some wonders there, but nothing really happened...we'd have to shell out almost the same amount of money for our taxes -_-

and more people would be required to pay service tax. the only good thing i heard abt the budget was that the people making less than 8 lakh a year would be spared from paying service tax. is that right?

Buts taxes are far less than they were during NDA's regime.

umm. service tax has been pushed mainly by the congress... it is become a bigger mess for us than the income tax.

As a consumer or as a service provider?Bcoz for service providers, its just like pushing it to consumers.I also hate 12 % VAT on restaurant bills.

exactly. and service providers like us suffer coz we cannot really ask advertisers to add service tax to payments they make to advertise on our sites.
