Bus Rapid Transit to be scrapped

Bad decision. Instead Kejriwal should have hired experts to make it a better designed project and make it role model for whole country.
BRT is actually bad designed in Delhi and in my city as well with lots of flaws, which has made its image negative in minds of public and politicians cashing in on public demand asking it to be scrapped.

That is problem with public perception about Bus transport. People in my city also want bus lane to be scrapped as they say road are not wide enough for vehicles and wasting some portion for bus is of no use.
Argument by people is also valid sometimes because if 1 bus is going to pass in 1 hour then its of no use to dedicate lane for that bus. So public transport dept should increase number of buses so that bus should be available every 10-15 minutes depending upon time of day.
When I was in UK, I saw that many roads in city, even if they were just 2 lanes, had 1 dedicated lane for buses, and no matter how much traffic jam was there on normal lane, no vehicle entered bus lane, even if it was not separated by wall. But in my city, even 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler enter bus lane and nobody stops them.
Cycle lane in my city is joke. It is used for eveything excpet riding cycles. Many people even argue why that space is wasted for cycle lane when people hardly ride bicycles.

BRT would have made sense if there was traffic discipline in this city. It is used by VIPs who consider it their birthright to use it. And of course, keeping on penalizing people to use it is also insane. So the time is definitely not right to waste road resources to dedicated lanes for buses.
