At my place I was getting unlimited 2G @ 95 from Idea which was 2GB in other states. Today a single GB costs roughly 150-170 on same 2G and all this to foot the bill paid towards the 3G spectrum and the recently auctioned unified licenses. Auction process has its own plus and minus and those scarce natural resources which can be of benefit of the common public should be handled with better policy rather than being turned into a money milking cow for the government.

Surely government will get the money from the auction and the telco will take the money spent away from my pocket in one way or another. But is the government investing the lakh crores money earned back into the telecom sector. The National Optical Fibre Project is estimated to cost 20000 crores thats just a part of money made from these auctions. Just my 2 cents.

What the f**k is C&AG?
C&AG = Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Some highlights-
1 He is appointed by president of india
2 His salary is equal to judge of supreme court
3 He can be removed from his office on the ground of proven misbehaviour by both the houses of parliament.

And to add on top of this 1.76 lakh crore figure is just bullshit. Because the theory used behind to arrive at such a figure was
The 2g spectrum that was awarded in 2008 at 'x' price had it been sold in auction like which held for 3g in 2012 (i guess) then 2g would have fetched 'y' price. And difference in y and x is 1.76 lakh crore.
In simple terms if you purchased mango at Rs 10/ KG in 2008 and purchased Apple at Rs 100/kg in 2012, then there is a loss to exchequer of Rs 90/ Kg because mango could have been sold at Rs 100 in 2012. This is the bullshit they have been spreading since the inception.
And if you think that i made this story up by myself. Head over to website of C&AG and read the conclusion of the 2g report yourself.

i don't understand how is this illegal. A fronts the money to B to buy in a legit auction and then takes over B. Big deal !

Yes and then when broadband prices increase and speed does not increase. Dont complain DoT or CAG!
It's not like they have done anything in the past to bring down broadband rates.
Reliance Infotel appeared to be the only hope for reasonable broadband in the near future, they were talking about low pricing and there was hope of a price war in the broadband space. If the govt does cancel the license, we can forget about good and affordable broadband for another decade or so.
