Can browsing speed be less than downloadspeed ?

For the past few days I'm experiencing very low browsing speed, whereas I'm getting standard download/upload speed (230KBps/70KBPs) of my 'Home 500 C' combo plan.
I'm confused, How browsing speed be less than download speed ? While browsing I'm getting unusual delay in page loading/refreshing.

Any suggestions ?

it could be a problem with your browser.have you tried using another internet browser?

try firefox or opera they are fastest browser otherwise better fix up your browser thats all.

Brothers,FYI,1. My OS (WinXP SP3) is up-to-date with latest service pack and updates2. I have latest browsers installed like FF 3.0.8 (default), GChrome and IE7So, i do not think there is any issue with my browser as you all pointed out. But I heard that, it can be possible that on e can get slow browsing speed but higher download/upload speed.

Yes, browsing speed can be different from "download" speed especially if u are using a download manager/accelerator that breaks the download into a number of parts thereby squeezing out the max from the available bandwidth.Downloads are also sometimes done thru FTP, which is sometimes given priority by the host server over HTTP..so ur FTP download might appear fasterSlow browsing can also be due to poor name resolution by DNS servers. Try out alternates like 4.2.2.1 or open dns

what kind of downloads do you do?either through torrents or http or ftp?

browsing speed always would be slow than download speedmy download speed after moving to home 500 this month is approximately 1.8 Mbps but browsing would be 500 to 1000 Kbpsbut the difference is narrow when i was in 256 kbps unlimitedthe reason may lie in servers of websites you browse

It's not "obvious", you can use http, ftp, link-removed, Emule etc etc etc

A little research into how torrents work will show you how you will obviously get better speeds on a well seeded torrent than on some random crap server's website.
