can we swap TS VC with dishtv on STB

Is it possible to put TS vc card on the dishtv STB box because they both use mpeg-2 format and both use insat satellite... Can it decode the Tata Sky signals by putting tatasky card

Hey dish_info ...nice question ...why dont you try and tell us all first ...! i too thinks this way ....but since i dont have either of these connections ...i cant try ... I feel that doing so , you will have to adjust the dish antenna as well in the some direction so as to get strength of signal ! Please do try this and i hope it will work !

I don't think they use the same satelliteDish TV uses NSS-6 and Tata Sky uses Insat2E

Ya ..i know different satellite ..that why you will have to tune in your dish antenna towards the satellite of TS (INSAT 2E) and then i guess it may work off course .

NO... you can't. Both service providers are using different encrypt technique (DishTV: Conax; TataSky: Videoguard). TataSky STB will support Videoguard only and DishTV STB will only support Conax. There is a mapping between VC no. and STB no. Moreover there are so many other factors also involved in this.

Can all of you please stop talking like this? First of all, you cannot even swap on DishTV VC to another DishTV STB, even if the make of the STB is same. There is a relation of VC card with the each STB.

Ok, i agree that they use both use different satellite ..... Then there is No change of changing the subscriber like the mobile sim...i saw in one of the forum topics... so This technology is not possible on the current stb sets...
