cant open 192.168.1.1

hii guys..my net wasnt gettin connected..i am usin bridge mode...so i went to 192.168.1.1 and logged in..there my ip address and othr figures were different..so i went to lan ip address which was 192.168.1.1.so i changed it to 192.168.1.9...then clikd on save and reboot....but it stopped gettin connected...nd nw i cant ev1 access 192.168.1.1i cald mtnl guys they told me to interchange wire b/w cpu nd modem..checked all the settings which are fine...bt still no solution...after pingin it is saying request timed out....plzz help me...

Try resetting the router.If it doesnt work, try a repair install of windows xp, assuming that u r using xp.i faced a similar problem. mtnl support was of no use. someone suggested that i repair install xp and it worked.my problem occured when a windows update restarted the computer when the router was restarting by execution of a telnet script.a repair install of xp worked.
