I recently got my BSNL plan upgraded from 100 Mbps / 1TB to 200 Mbps / 3.3 TB. BUT (and there's always a "but" with BSNL, isn't there?) my LCO still has me on the ancient Nokia-Siemens H640V-G25E ONT that is only 10/100 speed, so I still get only a max of 98-99 Mbps.
So I bought a Netlink V2801SG (equivalent of a Digisol DG-GR6010) Gigabit ONT and the instructions (from this forum and my general experience) is for it to work in Bridge mode, I need to make sure there are no WAN connections configured on it and of course, DHCP is off.
Problem is, my downstream router with the proper MAC cloned still isn't able to connect to PPPOE. All I have to do for the PPPOE to reconnect is just switch the OFC patch cord and ethernet wire to the old Nokia Siemens router. That suggests that there is no issue with router configuration, but there's something not right with the Netlink ONT's configuration.
I'm at my wit's end here, so, some ideas and advice are very welcome!
