Hello,

I need an cell phone to check emails (Yahoo/Gmail). I need basic cheap email service (via mobile browser ?), not expensive Blackberry.
Cell phone will be used for emergency calls ONLY (very few outgoing India calls)
I will be using it in Delhi, Dehradun, Musoorie, Bombay/Poona hills.

I want the cheapest cellphone and servic, which works in above areas.

Please advise on both non 3G and 3G cheapest options (cellphone + service).

One suggestion was getting a Nokia phone with java, gprs functions and use AIRTEL mobile prepaid card.
