USA is taking a big swing with its next series. According to Variety, the network has ordered 10 episodes of Colony, a new drama that's set in the near future in a version of Los Angeles that's occupied by "a force of outside intruders," which everyone knows is just code for "aliens." Created by Carlton Cuse (The Strain, Bates Motel, A&E's remake of The Returned, some show called Lost) and Hercules writer Ryan Condal, Colony follows a family that's forced to make difficult choices in order to balance staying together with the simple act of surviving in a world where humans aren't in charge anymore.
