Colors removed from base package on Airtel Digital TV DTH

Yesterday i got a message from adtv on my mobile the message was "Dear customers ,colors will no longer be a part of the base pack as on 1st may 2009.To subscribe ADD colors to 54325 for Rs.20+tax/month.ADTV."

That's a nightmare!!!!Now govt should make a law for these bloody DTH companies as well."Once the packages are added, they can add more but cannot remove them"Otherwise - 1 fine day, they will move almost all premium/good channels to add-on and we will end up paying more than 500 for all of them.

This is the story with most of the DTH in the country today.. Good I have thrown my TS away.. Happy with the Digital cable now..

they had already mentioned on their brochure and website that color 9x and 9xm are only part of base only till 31 march 09

I called up Airtel Digital TV DTH CC to check the reason for this. And guess what, they dont have a clue!!.

The reason I see is that recently we saw that Colors got the highest TRP ratings, and now Airtel wants to take advantage of this fact.

Although no one in my family used to watch this channel. But one fine day they can do the same with my fav channels as well like Discovery/NGC/Fox
