Are you connected in PPPoE ( "always On") mode.
--There is no such setting to make PPPoE in always on mode. I think its in always mode on.
Your userid/pw entered/stored in wan page of modem.
Kindly verify if you are in "Bridged" mode or "PPPoE" mode....

There is confusion here. If you are in default condition ,
You are likely to be in "BRIDGED" mode Check box in WAN page..

(a)PPPoE (Dailer"Bridged") mode :
"bridged" box usually the default selection.
you enter userID/pw in a system window and log in.
Using PPPoE Client software

PPPoE ( "Always On")
PPPoE box selected un checking "bridged " above.
