Configuring a Switch

I am using MTNL WiFi Router right now and I got 4 PCs and a Few consoles that need net connection. But I only have 1 Router with 1 LAN port , I would like to make my Whole house Wired and wireless, My requirements are that I should be able to access my files from any PC through the network. And and all PCs must get Internet.I would like to Add the switch to my exixting WiFi router so that i get Wirell too.Could anyone help me with this?Thanks^^

well. the best would be to decide which component can work wirelessly and which one can be used with wired connectivity. use the wireless ones with the wireless routers and connect the rest with the switch.

Thanks for the quick reply.Yes, I have 2 PC which can connect wireless and 1 Console that has Wireless connectivity. Rest remain 2 PC and other components like a HDD and stuff.I would like to know how to setup the switch and router.

i think u can connect the modem to a switch with enough ports. wifi router is connected to the switch. wired pcs connects to the switch as well. wireless devices can then connect wirelessly through the wifi router.
