Hi,I have a BSNL broadband connection which I connect to using a username of the form "username@dataone". I have been given a Huawei MT800 modem which I use for the connection.Could someone please give me instructions on how I can configure my Netgear DG834PN wireless modem-router on this connection?Thanks,-Ganesh

About MT800 link given in another thread started by you.
After ensuring you can connect to internet with this modem
remove the rj45 cable from computer and connect to Netgear Internet Port.
Use another RJ45 and connect from LANport of Net gear to computer.
Use the connection wizard.
Para two:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/dg834pn.asp
seems adslmodem + a wifirouter.
Remove the RJ11 cable from MT880 and connect to Netgear.
Open IE and type 192.168.1.1 Id admin password usually BLANK ( don't type)
Select the wizard.

I have managed to connect the router now. But listen to this..this is REALLY weird!! I entered my BSNL username and password and PPPoE while connecting. When I hit 'TEST' in the router configuration screen, it showed that i am not connected to the internet. I turned on my laptop anyway and it connected to the router and to the internet. I thought that my settings worked and closed the configuration screen. Now, when I open the configuration screen again, it shows me the old settings that I had for my ISP in the UK. It shows the same username and password and it also shows PPPoA. WEIRD!!! Can anyone explain what is happening?

OK, that was probably some freak incident.
I am not able to connect anymore.

I cam creating a PPPoE connection with
my username as username@dataone and my password.
I am selecting LLC Based Authentication instead of VC Based.
I am keeping the VPI & VCI as 0 & 35
I am keepinng all other settings default.

I am still not able to connect.
Could someone please inform me what I could do further?

No, the problem isnt solved yet. I am able to connect using my MT800 but I am still not able to use my Netgear router. Could you please tell me what settings I should use.

Using the auto configuration wizard does not work. I get an error, a screenshot of which is attached here.
