I recently requested for a static IP and as usual, Airtel being Airtel, closed request, reopened it, no call from anyone. One fine day, internet stopped working and the ONT (Nokia G2425) had a new Wan entry for static ip and the pppoe has been marked as "migrated" or something. rebooted the router and now I have internet access back on the router. This is almost a month ago and yesterday, I received a mail saying I denied the static IP request but I still have the ip assigned to me and internet still works. Also no charges for static IP on last month bill (the ip was assigned before 2 weeks of bill generation). Have I got myself a free static IP?
The question:
So I have also enabled bridge mode and I have a sophos Home edition FW running connected to the ONT in bridge mode and its connected using PPPoE. Currently, I have the ONT router's wifi using static IP and the AP connected to Sophos has dynamic IP from PPPoE. How do I disable static IP on ONT and assign it to Sophos? I guess I cannot have same IP assigned to both ONT and Sophos and expect it to work?
