Connect DIGICOMP to LCD Monitor (without PC)

Hello... I want to buy a 17" LCD monitor so that i can connect it to TSKY digicomp and watch TV. The dealer says that i need to buy a TV tuner with it to watch TSKY but i read somewhere that one can directly connect digicomp to LCD monitor via composite video input. Please guide me... what should i do... my budget is Rs. 7000...

Hey can you tell me which model of LCD you are looking to buy and what model. Then I can tell you if you need a tuner or not. Most likely, if its a LCD monitor which is meant to be used with computers, yes you will need a tuner.

as long as you buy a TV screen you will not need a tuner but if you buy a computer screen yes you will need a tuner.
So go to a TV shop and buy not a PC shop

from what i see STB does the work of a tuner. or maybe not. you just need a compatible port. if the STB has a DVI or HDMI or VGA port, you can just use a computer monitor or LCD.

hey adminnope Im pretty sure if you are using a computer screen you need a tuner. It's like my pc has windows media center. When you click TV option in it, it says tv tuner not found.Lets put it this wayIf you can find any screen with Red White Yellow video/sound input, the Tata Sky STB will work with it.If the screen has a VGA port, you will need an external tuner which will give an output of RWY

Buy the BenQ T2200HD - Its a 22" Full HD LCD which costs ~ 9.5k , combine this with a 1.5k external TV Tuner and you are good to go
