Major Windows BSOD issue takes banks, airlines, and broadcasters offline

The issues have been linked to a CrowdStrike update.

Thousands of Windows machines are experiencing a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) issue at boot today, impacting banks, airlines, TV broadcasters, supermarkets, and many more businesses worldwide. A faulty update from cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike is knocking affected PCs and servers offline, forcing them into a recovery boot loop so machines can’t start properly. CrowdStrike is widely used by many businesses worldwide for managing the security of Windows PCs and servers.

And to top it all, MS 365 is down as well taking almost all of their services offline.

Services affected all across the US, Europe, and Australia. If anyone is traveling abroad, please check. lol

Apparently there is a workaround lol

1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or WRE.
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike
3. Locate and delete file matching "C-00000291*.sys"
4. Boot normally.

so to resolve this the machines have to be patched manually or they would push some updates?

Manually. The update has been pushed but considering the machine can't even boot up, how will the patch apply?

This will take days if not weeks to be resolved completely.

Gotta reboot as many as 15 times.

This is for virtual machines. Regular machines are probably going to require manual fix.
