Maybe they want to see if Microsoft would fall for the bait and acquire them and fork Android lol. I mean Microsoft just recently paid a fortune for LinkedIn. CM is going to be cheap.
This was bound to happen. The idea was flawed from beginning. Microsoft can't fund their own Os development. I don't think that they will take over someone who forks Android.
