Found the ending to be disappointing.

Spoilers ahead.

Ulrich’s story got stuck in a Limbo and his wife died like it meant nothing after such a build up. I do agree that the story isn’t about time travel, but making peace with death but then the scientist who lost his son could’ve made peace with it rather than attempting to go back in time which created two different worlds. I mean, the story conflicts what it preaches?

Death is incomprehensible, but you can make peace with it.

This is a key idea of the show... along with its related warning that denial of death (failing to make peace with it) often leads to unnecessary suffering. - Reddit
