dataone connection using laptop with pc already having connection

hi,i have recently got Dell inspiron 1525. m already using desktop pc at home with bsnl broadband connection ,but m unable to connect internet through laptop, which is vista enabled. no message is coming while trying to connect after creating a connection. tried both usb as well as lan, which i got after instaling the modem driver cd in laptop, I have heard tcp/ip settings have to be changed in laptop while making new connection using bs. Kindly help. WIFI connection is working fine, which i have already tested. wired connection broadband is the one not working

What is the configuration in the ADSL modem? Check that first.

go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and post a screenshot of output here

Understand : (a)desktop no internet connection.(b)Laptop working fine in WIfi. ( hope security key used )(c)Laptop does not work in LAN mode (?)1.Mention modem/model/make. 2. Dialup or Always On?3. IN/TCP/IP select obtain Ip address automatically. In both computers.

He is having BSNL connection in pc. He wants to use it on lappy also. that is what I understood.
