Dead cheap router for running DD-WRT/Open-Wrt

Yeah , I forgot about that . it is capable of 5Ghz Dual Band on Wifi right . though as a future proof idea , looks like I will buy a Archer C6 only

Does Netgear offer any good ones in the price range of C6 ?

Netgear tends to be costlier always.... american vs chinese
All the research I have till date points to just C6 in that kindda budget

I am using netgear r6220 which is nice router in itself. One usb 2.0 port also present.
Supports openwrt too.

Ahh Netgear, been on modded dgn2200v3 for almost 7 years now, though planning to jump bandwagon to TP-Link now after these number of years, let's hope it turns out as stable.
