I read somewhere but don't remember that regular motherboards may claim anything but in reality they offer say at the most 50% of the throughput they say they will give. For instance, say an ASUS PRIME B550M-K Motherboard. Even if you had CAT-8 cable to handle the network throughput and you had a service that had 1 Gbps (AFAIK no such service exists in India, at least for common man). Even then you won't get 1 Gbps, at the most we would get 500 mbps. To get the full throughput you need a dedicated network card and controller dedicated for the same.
Would be interesting to know if somebody has done any testing on the same and what were their results or observations.
