How can even cheap phones have high quality 4K cameras on the front yet webcams on laptops are so shit. In my MacBook M1, you look like a grainy potato to the other side

Shouldn't we already have the technology to use our phones as web cameras.. @mikrotik's life would become easier too.

I think there are apps for that, the problem is the angle etc isn’t convenient

Mobile holders wouldn't help either because of the weight, and stability I think. I'm pretty sure Sony can dominate the market of webcams easily, but I don't think there's a huge market.
