HDMI to VGA adapters come at around 500 on Amazon and works fine. My wife is using one for secondary Screen to Laptop.

Are the hdmi to vga adapters good for use over long hours? I have a VGA monitor lying around, was thinking about buying one to use with Amazon fire tv stick, but the reviews did not give me enough confidence to go ahead with it.

@godric_gt mine is used for 10-11 hrs daily.
But for firestick, you will need a composite output or have to switch to bluetooth audio. Also, you would need a HDMI Female to VGA, instead of the normal HDMI Male to VGA, or have to add another HDMI Female to HDMI Female adapter.

so fufaji wanted an optical drive too. my pc guy told me that it was hard to source these days. Amazon has two listings Asus and LG. ordered asus coz it was cheaper.

one of the reviews highlights that a guy got a drive manufactured in 2009 in 2021. i assume i would also be getting a similarly old stock. i just hope that the drive works. lol.

Got the drive earlier today. Checked on my box. Works. I had forgotten how much noise these make lol.

Also manufacturing date seems to be November 2020 which is both surprising and shocking.
