Discovery Turbo and Discovery Science added on Tata Sky DTH

TS Has done some deal with Discovery on the lines of Sun doing the deal with Fox channels. These channels will be exclusively given to TS only for a Time period after that it will be go to all BUT TS has done the mistake of adding it to Cosmo Pack , whereas, Sun gave it free till its exclusivity period (31st March) Thus not using the exclusivity as a differentiator from the rest of the motley crowd. We can say Maran's are smart whereas Tata...huh....

This move has been taken in order to avoid future changes in channels and packages after ending its exclusivity period. Also introduction of these channels did not bring in a rise in package price but increased the number of channels in the package!

Adding these 2 channels is a great step! If you notice these channels are category breakers! The first ones in this category... The more specialist and diverse TV content becomes the more viewers will need EPGs and TV Guidance channels to help figure out what to watch. And any operator who has 150+ channels would need to provide both these - the electronic program guide and the TV Guidance channel. Lets just hope that the integration between Tata Sky and WHATS ON INDIA channel happens as early as possible! We will keep you posted on that.

A guidance channel will help direct traffic at channels and programmes. This is good at initial stage for specific programmes. Later viewers will decide for themselves programmes of their choice.

Well the news of channel introduced was good but now it actually is even better watching them and makes it fell worth having these channels.

umm..i have been watching these channels since they were introduced on Tata Sky..IMO the content is same which discovery used to show in hourly episodes..now they made all those hourly episodes into separate channels
