Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some technicalities about Tata Sky Hd Or Dish Tv Hd. Well, I have a 22'' LCD tv. There is no HDMI port on it but, it has Y Pb Pr Ports or the Green, Blue and Red ports. Well, these ports are also on the back of Tata Sky Hd as well as Dish Tru Hd. So, can i connect my LCD to HD STB through these ports and will i get HD quality picture?
 
Yes You can Connect your LCD with HD STB via Y Pb Pr (Component Out), Picture quality is also good , But its best with HDMI
 
Component can carry Full HD without loss. As good as HDMI in terms of quality.Pros: No HDCP issue.Cons: More wires. No audio thru it.

So. basically i will need extra red and white wires to get audio as i have those ports also on my tv set. And one more thing will the Dish Tv People provide me component cables or will i have to buy on my own ?
 
Yes For Getting audio you need extra wires to connect. Because you will only get picture with Component connection.

You can connect the tv through these cables and watch video but you will NOT get HD clarity pictures. Simply saying by connecting through Y Pb Pr you will get DVD quality pictures. Picture contrast is conveyed through Y cable and colours are conveyed through Pb & Pr cables. You should use additional cables to convey audio channels. The transferred data is in analogue mode. Through HDMI cable you will get high definition clarity. Original HD tv is called full HD tv, other LCD tv sets are HD READY which has less clarity than full hd tv. HDMI cable is a ribbon type wire (like SATA cable of computer) video and audio signals are conveyed through this cable in digital format.
