i recently saw a comment somewhere ,where a guy mentioned how "Due to unlimited data, there is huge load on Jio Network. By keeping 300GB,Airtel have maintained some kind of quality on network"

maybe Jio should introduce a cap as well? 500GB or so

@Kyle Crane Can you share that comment here for better context?

Umm, I can agree with that statement. Jio sucks in my area during peak hours. Unless you're really close to the tower, the signal is terrible.
I don’t know how they messed up 4G by rolling out 5G. It should have reduced the load on 4G, but that’s not the case for me. Both 4G and 5G are slow. There’s almost no indoor coverage for 5G, and 4G is so slow that I can’t even make calls properly.
I’ve filed complaints with Jio multiple times. They just said if I’m facing that much of a problem, I should port to another ISP. Damn...
I’m gonna switch to Airtel now. Their coverage is really good and there’s a tower nearby. That should also improve my battery life. I know NSA 5G consumes more battery than SA 5G, but it’s still better than constantly switching between 5G and 4G, which drains the battery even faster.
300 GB is enough for me since I also have broadband at home. Stability and coverage matter more to me than speed and uncapped data.

@Kyle Crane Yeah,
So, after complaining continuously for 6 months (since we can lodge only 1 complaint with an SR number per month on the MyJio app), I got really frustrated. They kept ignoring my requests by saying the team is actively working on the location and it would be fixed in 3 to 10 days, every single time.
Instead of calling them again, I sent the porting message to 1900. And you know what happened? I got bombarded with messages from the Jio team. After 2 days, one executive called me regarding the porting request.

I told him that their service is pathetic in my area. I can’t even make a call to 198 if I’m not connected to Wi-Fi. Even delivery agents suffer from this dead zone network problem, no OTP, no network during peak hours. Sometimes the signal drops completely and the phone automatically switches to “Emergency calls only.”

They acknowledged it and said:
"We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused. This is not the experience we expect to deliver from our end. Allow me to assist you.
I understand the inconvenience you are facing. Based on your complaint, we have analysed the issue and observed that network coverage is currently limited in your area.
We are working to enhance network coverage in a phased manner at your location. However, we are not in a position to commit any specific date of resolution."
I then told them, “What if you fail to resolve it? Then I’m going to port out.”
They replied: “Ki itni hi problem hai, to hum bhi aapko port karwane se nahi rokenge.”
I was shocked and asked, “Ma’am, aapko pata hai ki aap kya keh rahi hain?”
They repeated the same thing again: “We know that you are in a limited network area in Delhi. We are working to enhance network coverage in a phased manner at your location. However, we are not in a position to commit any date of resolution.”

Not here.

However, Airtel have not spread their 5G network everywhere either. It is only available in the middle of the city, and few other areas.

Jio on peak hours is like 200-400 Mbps, meanwhile Airtel gives around 70-150 Mbps. Non-peak hours, Jio goes around 500-700 Mbps, and Airtel 200-400 Mbps. That's what I have found with my and my friends' tests.

Airtel 5G have still not reached my area, where Jio 5G gives 150-300 Mbps inside home, and 300-500 Mbps outside during peak hours.

Airtel 4G is way better than Jio 4G though. Airtel 4G gives like 50-80 Mbps in my home and probably even faster in the main city, while Jio 4G goes like 10-50 Mbps (mostly on lower end).

Some places Airtel did make its mark like in 4G, rest capping I don't think it would have made significant difference since if in an area there are say N number of users latching on then that number will not change overnight so both telco will show issues that time. Yeah one can argue that jio many more gets latched then that depends area to area ofcourse jio got the strongest base still.
