Just called up 1504 to ask about the downstream rate being set to 128 kbpsShe said that it is normal (sab ko 100 hi milta hai :() but she will log a complaint. Does everyone out there see 256 as the downstream rate.. also my upload rate is set to 256 kbps. so that looks fishytoday morning once again I had the same issue of web pages not opening. Could this be an issue with their DNS Servers ? Any ideas on how to check ?

In the morning however I found that the webpages didn't work. Any url resulted in a search page being opened up. The good news was that the torrent downloaders worked anyway - so no issues. I toggled the power to the router and the webpages were back again.

If this happens regularly, it can be a spyware too. Install some anti-spyware n run it.

Da best n free ones are -

CWShredder
HijackThis

Also, regarding ur talk to 1504 ppl, they r jack***. Gud 4 nothing. The rate shud be 256kbps. But as said earlier, a hell lot depends on ur line condition. Get hold of ur local line men and get ur line connection checked frm the pole outside.

BTW: Hello Guys !!!!! Was out of town. :P

As far as the disconnections are concerned, they cld be due to the interference from additional devices directly connected to the phone line in parallel with splitter. Actually, u first need to split the line using the splitter then connect the additional telephones on the split line coming from it.

I solved my earlier problem and the net doesnt randomly disconnect anymore. But now im getting a different type of disconnection. Whenever i pickup any one of my telephones to make or receive a call, my connection is showing still connected but there is no data transmission and all pages appear as page cannot be displayed. Even after i put the phone down there is no data transmission. I have to manually disconnect and reconnect again. At first my telephone line was splitted at three places, 1st a phone, 2nd the router and 3rd another phone. So all three devices were in parallel. Then i connected the router as the 1st split in the line. So now its router-phone1-phone2.
This improved my SNR and reduced the line attenuation but the original problem still persists. Does anyone else observe this kind of disconnection when lifting the handset of the lan telephone with a same kind of splitting in the telephone line? If yes, how to solve it???

doesnt anyone know the solution to this problem? i didnt want to start another post coz the prob is almost the same but only caused by different reasons. can someone plz tell me how to solve the prob where my telephone disconnects my broabdand connection even when my router is connected as the 1st split in the telephone line and then 2nd and 3rd come my phones???
