Any use in asking for a different router, I got a 100Mbps plan still get like 30 even though signal strength shows 82%. Its not my laptop though, I can easily get 600Mbps on a proper connection.
If you have the option to bridge the CPE, get your own wifi router and do just that. It's much better solution than haggling with a service provider.
A good AC1200 router is good enough for your use case.
