Does JioFiber work with TpLink Deco Mesh Routers

Hi All, this is my first post in this awesome community, hoping to get some clarification on my questions -

I am currently on ACT and planning to switch to JioFiber in few weeks. I currently have a TP-Link Deco M5 (2) and x60 (1) router setup to cover my entire home. X20 is the main router in the living rooms and M5s are in the office and bedroom.

I wanted to know if I would be able to use the same setup if I switch over to Jio without using the Jio router.

Also would I able to use the Jio Set top box (Jio TV+) if I use TpLink routers, which is one of the primary reason to switch to Jio for watching TV and OTT apps subscription on the same network.

I spoke to one of the Jio Technician who had come to the neighborhood for installation and he mentioned that Jio Router is needed for the connection and own routers cannot be used, hence the confusion.

Any help on this would be really helpful. Thanks in Advance.

how do you connect the decos with act now?
In jio you can only use Dynamic ip to connect your decos
And yes it does work
I am using it like that.

how do you connect the decos with act now?

I have the ACT fiber optic line that is fed into a ACTON 1000 box (I am not sure what it is called) from there the LAN Cable is fed into the primary Deco. the secondary decos are wirelessly connected to the main deco use the TP-Link Deco App.

In the deco app I have configured the ACT fibernet user id password and other details.

Is this a similar process in Jio too? is the the TPLInk ONT box mentioned in the referred thread same as the ACTON box?

I have the same setup with multiple M5 satellites and one main X60 unit just like you. Unlike ACT you cannot enter your used id and password with Jio but you could instead choose the Internet in Deco app as dynamic, plug the main deco unit into Jio router and it will work just fine. Jio is reliable for regular browsing and streaming but it is not recommended if your primary use case is going to be gaming due to high loaded latency.

Please help me with the details, does this mean -
1. the wifi in the jio router would be switched off
2. LAN Cable needs to be Connected from the jio router to the X60 with the dynamic IP setting?
3. Now M5 would use the X60 as the primary router as before in the Mesh network

is that correct?

I would be using the network for Work Related, Browsing & Streaming OTT content. Would high latency impact these activities?

I do have a PS5 but mostly play single player games, so I hope it wouldnt impact the performance much.

yes you can switch the wifi off in jio router by using its my jio app or going to its default ip from webpage
2. yes you need to connect lan from jio to X60 and choose dynamic ip attaching a screenshot from Deco app for your purpose

everything would be same
OPEN DECO APP > GO TO MORE> CHOOSE INTERNET CONNECTION> THEN INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE> CHOOSE DYNAMIC IP
DO THESE AFTER CONNECTING LAN FROM JIO TO YOUR X60.
Regarding ping it would be fine for you but dont know about gaming.

1. If I just use the TP-Link for the wifi, how would one be connecting the Jio TV Settop box, is it to the tplink or to Jio router ?
2. Would Jio settop box connect via wifi also or does it need to be connected to internet via a Lan cable only?
3. Can I have the wifi on the Jio router and the TPLink simultaneously?

For Jio tv you need to connect to jio router you can simply connect a lan from jio router to set top box and switch off wifi in jio router to avoid interference
2. jio set top box supports both lan and wifi
3. yes you can have both simultaneously

@anmolbhard004 How has your experience with JioFiber been so far? I see you have listed both Airtel and Jio Fiber how do you are them?
