i saw the first episode. was too serious for my taste man. quality was bad and then i ran out of seeds.

righto. the problem is that it is almost 20 years old... and i do need some fun factor in what i am seeing. that other bbc show was fine because it was not from the 80s and had fewer episodes

IIRC, both have six episodes. Yep, the fun factor is missing and the end is depressing , intense nonetheless. BBC brings me to this - Blackadder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . You've prolly seen it though. I quite liked it.
