Well, for one thing the Chinese Government actually cares about developing their country. Ours, well... do I really need to say it?

agreed but things have also changed a lot in India, it is not now just a mass of illiterate people. There are class of people who really 'demand'. And about development i think the private industry is enough to develop our country unlike communist china.
Off topic but i think there is only one big hurdle left 'land acquisitions', if that is solved everything gets solved(while in China u know what happens).

1. Chinese government actually cares about developing their country is a myth. Chinese government is as corrupt as Indian Govt if not more. The development in Chinese infrastructure is more to do with Communist party's mandate to spend on infrastructure to improve GDP. (I have enough statistics to support my case. If needed,I will provide you the same)

2. I am happy with 2Mbps connection with FUP and without internet blocking (of Facebook, Twitter, Google and so on) than 2Gbps unlimited connection with internet blocking for almost everything I access on web.

3. I am fairly confident that I will have FTTB connection to my house by latest 2015 (In India).

Disclaimer: I hate Indian politicians as much as everybody else and have no political affiliations.

It seems that BSNL will be forming a special purpose vehicle for the development of the network. The fiber network will be jointly owned by the USO fund and the federal government. What is Airtel upto? Will it also lay Fiber or Continue with VDSL?

Couldn't have said it better myself :thumbup (2):

Move to China then. You can experience the glory just like the people in these cities (< click it, go on, don't be shy).

^^This reminds me of scenes from the series "Life After People".

Just a comment on comparing corruption.......People are telling that China is as corrupt as India.I just want to ask them 1 question - Do u see bomb blasts on daily basis in China? Is it that when u leave ur home in China, u arent even sure if u will return home?? If thats the level of corruption there, only then pass such statements.

I guess we are mixing up two different issues. I am talking about corruption in context of infrastructure rollout and you are talking about corruption in context of law and order.

Why indian ".gov's" are made of simple HTMLs? why not in some more attractive and interactive user friendly way? :S is it because they don't get hosting speeds over 128 kbps? =S

Also bcoz their Web Developers have specialization in HTML only :pEven Specialization I doubt. With Zero HTML knowledge, I can make better Web Pages using frontpage .

That and the sites are all running on 486's... maybe Pentium 75's if they're lucky. With Windows for Workgroups 3.11. And don't forget that they're always designed by someone's 12-year old nephew :D:D:D
