The Department of Telecom (DoT) has issued a notice to Idea Cellular for Punjab License Termination and has also send a demand notice to Spice Communication for Punjab. The regulator alleges that there has been a violation of the substantial equity norm by Idea Celuar and Spice Communication.The Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has already heard out Idea cellular’s plea on the grant of 3G spectrum in Punjab but the Department of Telecom says it cannot give Idea the Punjab 3G license. Idea has paid Rs 320 crore for it Punjab 3G license. The final hearing on matter by TDSAT will be held on March 3.
