DSL 502T - Bridge Mode Tutorial on MTNL Broadband

Hey Krish, Thanks for your suggestion on the Bridge connection. The performance seems to have been improved, however I still face disconnections. Is there no solution to the disconnection problem at all? Also, I need my system continously connected to Internet, as I work from home sometimes, especially when its a rainy day. Can you suggest something in this as well?Also, I need to know how do I share the bridge connection between my desktop and laptop. I have the bridge connections configured at both the systems, however it seems that only one of the systems can use the bridge mode connection at a time.
I have similar setup but have found a different solution as detailed below
SL502 configured in bridged mode connects into Netgear WGR614 on WAN/INTERNET port.On netgear, I have configured WAN port to do the PPPoE dialup and have configured an "Idle" timer of 3 minutes. basically it tears down the PPPoE session if there's no internet traffic for more than 3 minutes (default setting was 5 minutes on netgear).My Home PC (XP) connects to Netgear on LAN while Laptop (Vista) & mobiles connect thru WiFi. No dialing etc needed from any of the machines.Using NU849 plan for downloads I need, I simply shut down my PC / Laptop around 07:45 (daily scheduled and forced shutdown on both machines) and the "Idle" timer on Netgear then shuts down the PPPoE session before 8am.Haven't seen any major performance increase with this arrangement but this surely is taking care of my modem reboot issue since I've found use of TST script on Windows Vista to be unreliable so far.I'm sure if you have a WiFi Router and not just Access Point, you should be able to do the same.Hope this helps.
