They physically change ports. I have seen them remove my wire from 1 cluster and plugging it to another cluster.

I'm using Belkin G router and there are far too many wifis in neighborhood which are interfering with my wifi, I already tried switching channels and stuff, but to no avail.
so I am planning to upgrade my Modem Router setup, any reccos?
I am using this plan, I need to cover 1000sqft, have 8-9 devices,
usage: streaming videos, surfing, using teewe to stream content on tv, etc.

You will have to go expensive. Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 15,000 budget. (Don't expect good coverage and reliability if you go slightly cheaper)

1. Buy TP-Link TD8816 V8 ADSL modem from Amazon.in. Link here
2. Buy Asus RT-AC68U Wifi router from amazon.in. Link here

You have to put TD8816 modem into bridge mode and let RT-AC68U connect to it using PPPoE connection.

Both the devices suggested are the best available in their respective roles and there is no competition for them.
I myself use this combination at my home and at office and it has not yet let us down in 2 years. I have done a similar setup at 4 other places and they thank me for it.

If you buy them, anyone here can help you with the setup which is easy and you can even PM me.

You will never get good stability or range in a device which does both (modem + router combo) Past 10 years experience.


One last thing is you need to make sure that the ASUS router is placed exactly in the middle of the house. You may have to lay a CAT6 cable from TP-Link ADSL modem to this ASUS for connectivity. Both will need separate power outlets and both can also be placed together.
