We should probably have Series based subscription of channels. US/UK operators provide such kind of subscription. But then there operator are also content broadcasters and can manage to provide such subscription. In India its difficult to do that. But as price are going up for everything, cant price of channels go up too? Sorry Amish! :)(need some affordable solution for this)

pay per view events are already happening in india (with movies). however, considering most channels having rights to just a few events in a year they would be nuts to take this route. a couple of them does not allow monthly subscription for the same reason through DTH services (espn star i believe is one of the culprits i believe).

Yes, ESS wants their channels to be in base pack which was opposed by Tata Sky, and there trouble between them started :)Sports channels should atleast not force operators to provide their (expensive) channels in base packs. Nimbus/Neo was right about it by making themselves as addons on all operators from beginning.

Espn Star has problems with either cable operators or DTH Operators every time. Its been happening for years.Even Last FIFA World cup they hiked their rates and many cable operators were forced to show FIFA World Cup illegaly on some foreign channels.I feel payment channels must never show ads.Why must we pay to watch their ads too.For eg Watching F1 on star sports is a pain.Ads every 5 laps and most of these ads are just their programming schedules.

Do anyone remember that exactly 2 years back ESS and TS has some SPAT and on 1st June they removed these channels from base packs and again added till september. Now I feel that as TS havent signed new agreement that old one was for 2 years.

Last time round they removed these channels from the base pack - in those days the Super Saver cost 300 bucks. They removed ALL Sports channels except DD Sports, made the Super Saver 260 bucks, and then an extra 40 for ESPN Star Sports Star Cricket, and an additional 15 bucks for TEN Sports. Tata Sky's bull shit policies

its the tricks!!even my cable operator plays such tricks though. so i cant say its just TS.

So, existing customers won't be able to see world cup "for free" unless they buy 2nd/3rd/4th TS digicomp! :imbored:
