Excitel Broadband Issues

Do these ping differences matter for speedtests? Unless there is some big problem like sluggish browsing or unable to access a particular site, I don't think it makes a lot of difference for residential broadband connections.
I am getting kind of entitlement vibes here, people expect leased line performance with perfect routing and pings from a cheap ISP which even fails to deliver plan speed outside its peer network.
 
Airtel is currently experiencing some latency degradation to the EU and some Intl regions, mostly due to issues with subsea cables, which are outside of Airtel’s control. However, the impact is still being felt on their network.


One major cloud provider, DigitalOcean (DO), was previously a downstream customer of Airtel. They primarily relied on Airtel and Tata for their cloud infrastructure in India, but eventually dropped Airtel because of service quality issues.

DigitalOcean has since completely removed Airtel from its network and now uses Jio and Tata as its backbone providers in India.


I’m not saying Airtel is good or bad. The tweet above is from 28 February 2026. Yesterday, I observed noticeable latency variations on my Airtel upstream ISP connection as well as across Airtel Xtreme probes deployed around India.
 
Airtel can't be like BSNL because it has invested heavily in future subsea cable projects, and many ISPs rely on Airtel for transit services.

They may be facing service/latency degradation right now, but I'm confident it will come back stronger with better results.
 
Delhi PNI seems up, though, so not sure if that's the problem...

Hi everyone,
I am on Excitel and using a GX Earth 2022 router. I am facing an intermittent issue that looks more like routing/peering or path instability than a simple Wi-Fi problem.
What I am seeing:
Roblox has severe ping spikes during gameplay, sometimes going 500 ms+.
The issue seems worse on Mumbai-region Roblox sessions/servers compared to others.
Free Fire also showed spikes at times earlier, though behavior is inconsistent.
Upload traffic becomes bursty during spikes, and speed can fluctuate randomly.
The problem is intermittent: some sessions are fine, some become unstable.
I am already using Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1).
What I have already tested:
Different devices
Different Wi-Fi / mobile data comparisons
Multiple Roblox experiences
Different networks
Router reset / reprovisioning attempts
The issue still appears in a pattern that feels path-specific
I am trying to narrow this down: does this look like ISP routing/peering, upstream congestion, or a regional path issue toward Mumbai-hosted game traffic?
Also, for this GX Earth 2022 router, I am trying to understand the correct FTP recovery/access method after reset/reprovisioning. If anyone knows the proper recovery procedure or the default/management FTP access behavior for this model, please let me know. I am not asking for public secrets, just the legitimate recovery method. also if anyone know the default FTP credentials for the GX Earth 2022 router, or whether Excitel changes/disables them via provisioning?
 
@anonymousl no issues bro, it's India and consumers who should be pushing companies to deliver more are just saying lines like :

That's why we can't have good things. The same old mentality. Good going. I've already stopped arguing with such 🧠's a long time ago.
