Excitel Broadband User Experience in Gurgaon

Yesterday i was facing instagram image loading issue on excitel and also aws services were hell slow. Us-east-1 was crawling.

Seems to be fine today. Will check if my ip

i guess their newer areas have better hardware so they are getting ipv6 first?

i am still on their original dumb onu so it might not have tr069 support? i might not get ipv6 until i get a new router? which i do not plan to get till the dumb onu works tbh.

They have removed services from Mumbai. Most places had tie-ups with LCOs; it seems they are quietly moving them to an alternate upstream.
LCOs have been asked to not do any renewals. Coincidently, I also see that they have removed "Mumbai" as a location from their website.

my lco had an office in local market. that place now has a to-let board. i have no idea where they are operating from these days lol. as long as the service works, and someone picks up the phone i suppose. my yearly plan is till october. hopefully it survives here. all alternatives are shit ngl.

I suppose you guys are totally unaware of this news 😁 : Excitel CEO Raina steps down after 10-year stint; Varun Pasricha to succeed

I'm on a wait & watch mode till 26 December 2026 (my plan expiry), I'll decide by then whether to keep it or not. As since October 2025 PAN India slowdown issue, my 4k 60fps 60 Mbps livestreams are having huge packet losses hence I have to come down to around 30 Mbps.

Also, The COO since 2018 is now the CEO : https://www.bwpeople.in/article/varun-pasricha-takes-over-as-ceo-of-excitel-broadband-595097

@unnecessary Woah, I wasn't aware of this news... Last year, I too faced the same issue where my 200 Mbps connection would drop to 30 Mbps, and most of the time, there was no PON light on the router (only affecting download speeds). (Connecting to Cloudflare DNS solved it.) I complained multiple times and even escalated the issue across various departments. After my plan expired, I switched to Jio Air Fiber. After trying Jio Air Fiber, I applied for a new Excitel connection with a one-month plan just to give them another chance, and now the issue seems fixed. The wire is the same, the router's Rx power is the same, but the account is new... (maybe they capped my previous account).

@sparkradar Yes, it was a PAN India issue related to their tata transit. Started around October and ended by the first week of December (just a few days before my plan expiry). And it was a perfect co incidence that you left while the issue was there and when you came back it was fixed. So yes no capping on your account or anything. Just timings 😁.
