Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody has opted in for the Excitel cable cutter plan with IPTV yet. I really wanna have reviews about how the channels work in the IPTV thing. I do know everything will be configured under the PlayBoxTV app but still, a genuine review would be helpful.

Thank you!

I upgraded my plan in December to 400 Mbps OTT and I have subscription to all apps via playbox tv (claim code and redeem) as well as live TV channels available on playbox TV.

Thanks for the reply guys! This is bit tricky actually, Excitel is not providing IPTV plans to the existing customers, they said it is specifically for the new customers only, I don’t exactly know the reason why though.

IPTV would require a box that connects to TV. If this is all through an app that you run on mobile or computer or a smart device, not sure they can/should call it IPTV. It is not supposed to run through internet which I am guessing happens here. Anyways.

That’s right! PlayBoxTv here has just introduced a way to play live channels directly in app instead of redirecting the use to other apps, this is what they are calling IPTV.. someone has explained their IPTV thing in below youtube video -

Since nobody has replied here, I assume nobody has opted for the Excitel TV yet. So, I decided to get a new connection of Excitel with OTT + IPTV. It took me a quite long since I was waiting for my Jio Airfiber to expire (Also existing excitel connection to expire).

Since IPTV plans can not be given to the existing user, I was forced to buy the new connection, which was fine for me as there were no installation charges, all I paid for the 3-month Excitel's Cable Cutter Plan with IPTV.

After the installation, I can see below IPTV configs in my router configurations

I was able to access Excitel TV in the PlayBoxTV app as well. Surprisingly, the video quality of the channels has blown my mind, It was crystal clear for all the HD channels (channels mentioned with HD), and I can easily identify the resolution of all HD channels is somewhat close to 1920x1080 FHD. Here are some screenshots from the IPTV (in the next post)

Hope these many screenshots will give you enough insight into how Excitel IPTV looks.
Few things I've noticed so far:
  1. The stream of all channels is provided by the ADigital. IDK who they are, heard about them for the very first time.
  2. Not all channels are free, but a good amount of channels that you usually watch are free (all free-to-air channels are free as well).
  3. When you start the IPTV app for the first time, you'll be asked about the language selection. For example, if you belong to the southern region of India, so can select Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam here and the regional packs with respective channels will be activated for you. It's totally up to you on which paid channels will be available to you for free along with your Excitel connection based on the language selection (I selected Hindi).
  4. Tons of paid channels might not be available in your package, but you can subscribe to those channels anytime for any period by directly paying to the IPTV provider, it gives you the QR code on the screen which you scan and the channels start playing immediately after the payment is made. Each channel cost between Rs1 - Rs 21 per month.
  5. No Zee Network channels exist.
  6. It works only on Android/Google TV. The excitel TV option doesn't show up in the PlayBoxTV mobile app.
  7. Excitel TV can only run on 1 device at a time.
