@Skeeter I think it means, whenever something breaks inside ISP network. In Ethernet/network terms it means no signal detected.

Short review after using excitel for 10 days :

DO NOT ever get it. Trash company.

why, you ask? optical power at the time of installation was -26dBm, installation was done using a plastic water bottle inside house at the place of proper junction box. Optical power now is -31.6dBm from past 2 days. I tried contacting their customer helpline, what they say is sir -31dBm is acceptable/manageable. I ask her what does dBm means, they were clueless lol, I said when you dont know the unit of signal, how can you be so sure that -31dBm is acceptable. Again, no reply on that topic. Next big problem is downtime, went down 2 times for 4 hours each time and portal said there's some issue in local network. I took Excitel as a backup connection but now it looks like I have to take a backup connection for excitel lol. Also, they had no wire with them, they removed airtel's fiber cable from somewhere and did installation using it. I feel scammed so bad.

I had a terrible experience with this company and would never recommend them to anyone. I was on a yearly plan with them but went out of town due to maternity leave. Despite explaining that I couldn't recharge my account or return their router right away, they began harassing me with 20-30 calls a day. When I asked them to stop, they said there was no way to do so until I either recharged the account or returned the device. Finally, out of frustration, I had to escalate the issue to the telecom ministry before they stopped spamming me with calls.

Yeah they are shameless.
On the top of everything, they say in the end that the router provided by Excitel is property of excitel and we can take it back if you disconnect and shit. Who wants their shitlike router.

down since 3pm. Apparently there's been a lot of electricity pole shifting so almost all ISPs in my area are down, Excitel, JIO, Tata Play, Den and some local ones except airtel. The roads are flooded by fibers and fibers, Excitel, Jio and a lot of fiber cables are there on the road. Jio has started rewiring from their tower to all the local FAT boxes, excitel has done half of the work and due to govt, electricity had to be started, so Excitel and Jio has done some of the rewiring, half they are going to do tomorrow morning only.

Airtel is in win-win situation as my Fatbox is connected to the nearest Airtel Tower which is on the other side of the colony, so its a direct line, never gets cut unless monkey bites/hangs on the cable really hard.

This is the first time, I am not gonna blame excitel for this outage as its unpredictable and un-avoidable.

Also, I have seen the main fiber cable which excitel uses is thicker than the Jio's. Its so hard and hard to cut. 6 times thicker than that of Airtel's.

Hope theyll be able to restore internet tomorrow.
