Ok, so the Excitel person vanished. I called him yesterday morning and he told he's on his way. Then he called to ask the exact location, after that no response. I called him up later and he said apparently my house is a bit far from the nearest fiber point and he needs to check with the operator to confirm feasibility and would call me back. No response since then! 😡

This is after I asked him twice on two separate calls whether the area (with landmark) is serviceable. He was so confident that there is service in the area, he said that I could just send the docs over WhatsApp and he'd initiate the process and I can make the payment online. Good that I didn't do that! ;)

😑

The operator he is talking about, better get his no and ask him. These sales chap hardly know anything.

Yep, so the operator guy called few minutes back asking for exact location and I shared the location over WhatsApp. And now the Excitel sales guy called saying the area is feasible. I will go ahead and submit the application then!

Anybody on Excitel in Bangalore? I submitted interest on their site and they called up earlier today and said there is service in my area from last one week or so. Pricing is same as that on the website, if you pay for 3 months, you get the 300 Mbps plan for approx Rs 750 per month which is decent. I think there is also the 6+3 offer going on which makes it really cheap (but not sure I'm ready to pay 6 months upfront without any user feedback from the area/city)

No installation charges, Rs 750 security deposit for ONT or Rs 2000 if you need a wireless router from them as well.

I understand from users from other areas that, you are behind NAT, they at times hijack DNS etc but all those don't really affect me much as there are workarounds. If no one is on Excitel Bangalore yet, I am even ready to take the connection for academic purposes. 😜
Academic purposes... Now that's why we have @varkey over here in this forum.. Doing all the testing and whatnot 😊 Proud of you Bro 👍keep up the good work 👍

6+3 for 4000/- and 3+1 for 2000/- is the plan before 1st march for new subscribers. Though it's only for 100mbps connections. May be the excitel person told you so because you asked for 200/300 ones.

Looks like this isn't applicable in Bangalore. I checked with the sales person and also checked with Excitel support, both told the same thing.
