Can anyone share his experience of how they came to know about the excitel fiber being actually available in their area?
The excitel fiber page in myexcitel app is showing links to buy Onu devices since Feb end but the LCO and both excitel helpline saying work is still going on and its not available. Helpline guys told that they will contact via SMS and call when the fiber is indeed available in my area in Delhi.
Did anyone of you got notified via SMS or call when fiber was available to your area or it was through some other means?

No guarantee of availability even if it shows in app. Happened with someone yesterday only.
Poor chap is still stuck with ethernet excitel.
Airtel xstream is available but too costly for him as he uses 600GB per month.

Yup. Have had the excitel fiber notification in my "My Excitel' page for over 2 years now. Still on ethernet since 2016.
When asking on chat, they have no idea when it will be available.

As shown in the screenshot in my post, this orange color wire I have seen for the first time in my area. Are orange color wire fiber ones or could be just a normal ethernet wire?

Same here since March 2019, even paid 750 for ONT (Excitel did refund me in December 2019). LCO still isn't providing fiber in my area, when I message him he says it'll be done in 3 months and he has repeated it every time since last year. Now he is saying expansion has stopped due to COVID-19.

Orange cable is the fiber, it means some LCO is probably offering Fiber in your home but it could be Fiber To The Pole.

For knowing the availability I would suggest using the Live Chat support button on my Excitel page and asking them. It's one of the few times Excitel support is actually useful.

chat support is useless
i have contacted them several times in the past and they never have any information or any timeline

@Aakash Malhotra Yeah, I have been getting this 'no timeline' response for quite a while now.

Seems like the final decision for fiber is on the LCO, excitel can just provide them with option of availability. Sucks honestly.

i think the only incentive excitel is giving to lco's for upgrading to fiber is the 'feeling' of lower cost in maintaining the network and future upgrade-ability . they are not giving any monetary incentive. like pricing of plan is same. so the cut lco gets must be same as well
lco has to buy the fiber splicing machine which costs lacks from his own pocket and it will be years till they recover the cost from lower maintenance cost. why would anyone put up such a huge cost just to move to ftth? when their copper network is working just 'fine' and getting the job done

but excitel has said multiple times that by end of 2020 they will move entirely to ftth. so lets see what happens.
