Hey, I am looking to take Excitel Broadband. I have some questions if you guys could answer?

I am talking about 1699 plan 50 mbps (google peering) 30 mbps plan

1. Download Speed for Torrent will be 50 mbps or 30 mbps?

2. Download speed is constant or it drops if someone on the same node is downloading?

3. FUP is truly unlimited or there is any limit?

4. Is there any discount i can have on the plan price?

Thanks.

Actually they have revised the plans so the above mentioned plan costs ₹1604
Now to answer your questions
The 50 Mbps speed will be for online streaming for ex YouTube etc for which Excitel has peering agreements
You can get VERY high speed while downloading from Utorrent etc as they also use peers in order to download data( in my experience torrent with lots of seeds can go as high as 11 MBPS(yeah you heard it right 11 mega bytes per second )
Otherwise you'll get 30 Mbps ie 3.75 MBPS on regular downloads such as I'm
2). Download speeds remain constant at all times the torrent downloading could go down a bit but you wouldn't even feel it. Rest remains the same.
3).There is no limit whatsoever believe me I have downloaded upto 1.5 TB in a month ✊✊
4).As I said the plan costs ₹1395+taxes which amounts to ₹1604 , it is the most affordable price for such high speeds without fup that I have heard of .
Excitel provides seamless service and I hardly have an issue
PS. I guess you know 50 Mbps(mega bits per second) amounts to 6.25 MBPS(mega bytes per second)
1 byte = 8 bits.
Remember there is no extra payment for cable installation and if they demand some extra amount for setting up router don't give them as setting up is very easy(log in to your router the IP address is printed on the back of router then login using id and password (also printed on the router ) select connection type ppoe and then type in the user ID and password (provided by ISP).
Voila you're all setup
I hope I have cleared some of your doubts

@Rishabh Sahni Well, thanks.

5. How can I setup D-Link Router to use with Excitel?

6. how do they give ppoe username and password?

I mean it comes via. sms or email or the setup team will give themselves?

7. Do they lock the wifi router mac address with them?

8. Router they provide is free of cost or charged?

@Sushubh if you could also take a look and answer. :)

dsl router would probably not work with excitel.
lco would provide you with the details i guess. it should also come via sms. not sure excitel seems to be changing a lot of things every month these days.
you can reset the mac from their mobile app.
they charged rs. 500 for install here. i did not take their router as any wireless router would work with them.

@Sushubh Which router works with excitel very well?

DSL Router won't work why? You can use the WAN option right?

I'm sorry if i am wrong. Please advice me. Please tell me some best routers which can work with excitel?

@Rishabh Sahni They are asking for 600 Rs for the router and 200 Rs for the setup.

What to do?

How do I do it for free?

i paid 500 bucks for the installation. which means laying down the ethernet cable from their nearest box to my computer. they could not get my router working. but verified the installation and creation of my account by dialing manually from windows after connecting the ethernet cable to my computer directly. i configured my router later on myself.

dsl routers have a port for telephone cable right? you might need a custom firmware that would let you use one of the ethernet ports for wan. i decided not to experiment on my xiaomi router. i am currently using it as a switch and excitel is connected to a load balancer which well is not working optimally. you probably just need a wireless router. get something that has range that meets your requirement.

Okay. So, Which router do you suggest @Sushubh and any tutorial for setting that up manually so that I won't need to pay any fee to them?

this is the only thing you need:

The installation guide comes with the router itself no need to pay for something even a naive user can do just by following steps from the guide
Btw I got an TP-Link wr841n router for 850 which has a pretty good range
