Airtel is trying to start their service in my city in LCO model. They already laid the overhead cables, installed FAT boxes in many areas. But the local existing LCO guy is creating nuisance by cutting the cables, breaking the FAT boxes. this issue is going on for last 3-4 months. Local existing LCO guy is telling they will not allow airtel to start the service in our city. Heard that airtel LCO is already talked to local police but they are not helping much. Any suggestion how to tackle this situation? Any contacts in airtel or administration who can pitch in and help here?

Get Airtel higher ups and then go to his office and talk to it. If matter heats up then Airtel will handle it. After all it's PAN India company and 2nd largest telco in India. How can a .... & Harry just cut their cables? 😂

I think the first few months will be difficult but you have to keep talking to airtel like you are not the one at fault here and not accept their excuses. For me at the 8th month, the total level of outage was so much that I managed to get 3months worth of fees refunded to me. Airtel finally decided to use more protective cables and put the boxes at unreachable heights and it finally stopped for good. I did my own part using an alt name on google maps to write reviews on each local ISPs nearby and describe what they are doing.

Another complicated, expensive option would be to invest in multiple ISPs and a loadbalancing router. My work was getting affected badly from the outages so spending 1k on another ISP would have been a small sacrifice. But I bought a raspberry pi + sim modules expansion + openWRT+ups to build a home/travel router with Airtel, BSNL and Jio sim. My family already had Jio so I converted Airtel and Jio connections into family plans, ordered the extra sims and fit them to router. Now undersea cables have to be cut or I have to be living in Naxal area to experience any outage.
