External Tv tuner - a doubt

Can I record directly to a External HDD using this TechniSat CableStar Combo HD CI [4105/3733]external tv tuner ?

By directly do u mean, without turning on computer?Otherwise if comp is on, ur software shud be able to record it on HDD attached to comp.
